Job description
The Hopkins School Business Office is seeking a Finance and Accounting Associate to work with the Finance and Accounting Manager and Chief Financial and Operating Officer in all areas relating to finance and financial accounting and reporting including:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems to ensure adherence to GAAP and the maintenance of internal controls that ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Addressing deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, treasury management, student billing, contribution and pledge accounting, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, account analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with various regulatory agencies and works with the Finance and Accounting Manager in year-end audit preparation, budgeting, and forecast activities
Experience
- REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and reliability
- Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve complex problems
- Proficiency with database and information systems as well as Microsoft Excel
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
