Position:
North Central District Health Department is searching for a full time Finance Administrator. This is a contract position and serves under the direction of the Public Health Director. The salary range for this position is $46,800.00 - $58,500.00 annually. Some of the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to;
Develop and manage a comprehensive accounting program.
Prepare the annual budget of the local health department.
Monitor budget to ensure conformance with provisions of the budget.
Provide effective input into the agency’s strategic planning process.
Direct the preparation of statutory, regulatory and/or state and federal financial reports.
Supervise the billing and collection of monies for health services rendered by the department.
Represent the financial interests of the agency.
Provide assistance to others on accounting and fiscal matters.
Arrange audits of regulated LHD accounts and administer and interpret policies, rules, and laws.
Coordinate assigned functions with service delivery, administrative and programmatic functions, provide effective input into the agency’s strategic planning process.
Oversee the Information Technology Department and staff.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting or Human Resource Management.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of experience in an administrative or management capacity, where fiscal and budgeting, accounting, payroll, and accounts payable responsibilities have been demonstrated.
Substitution for Education: Additional education in the field will substitute for r the required experience not to exceed three (3) years.
Substitution for Experience: A high school diploma/GED and five (5) years of experience equivalent to the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position will substitute for the required education.

North Central District Health Department serves the communities of Henry, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky. We are centrally located between the two largest cities in Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington. We serve rural and small urban like communities. We are also surrounded with beautiful parks, horse farms, bourbon distilleries, and great dining near Kentucky’s only designer mall.
