High School Para Educator:

Maquoketa Valley Community School District is in need of a High School Para Educator for 2023/24 school year. This position may involve working with Middle School students as well. Extra-curricular assignments may be available based upon the interest and qualification of the applicant. Maquoketa Valley Community School District is located in a supportive and rural community near beautiful Lake Delhi and is less than an hour drive from Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Dubuque. Job Description:

• Supervise and assist students in study hall.
• Collaborate with Special Education Teachers to provide support and accommodations to students with IEPs.
• Follow IEPs and teacher directives.
• Work with students on homework completion, organization, and other skills necessary to be successful in school.
• Communicate with staff and parents regarding student progress in their classes.
• Assume duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Teacher or Principal.
• Attends all required staff meetings.
• Maintains confidentiality and student privacy by only discussing student needs with staff that have an educational need to know the information.
