JOB SUMMARY Sizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educator to support and teach students in Mathematics. Primary role is to help ensure students meet Math achievement targets. Sizer seeks a teacher who is passionate, able to work with a wide variety of students grades 9-12, has excellent organizational skills, utilizes best practices in math instruction and student data to inform instructional practices, builds strong relationships with students, and is clear in written and verbal communication.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but not limited to: )* Teaches Math courses at the high school level, including but not limited to Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, and Calculus.* Demonstrates strong knowledge of Massachusetts Math Curriculum Frameworks.* Promotes the learning and growth of all students by providing high-quality and coherent instruction.* Designs standards-based units of instruction and lesson plans with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks.* Demonstrates instructional and management practices that establish high expectations and create a safe and effective classroom environment.* Adapts instruction, materials, and assessments to make challenging material accessible to all students, including English learners and students with disabilities.* Acts as an advisor to a group of students and works to shape curriculum and practice to support the whole student.* Reflects on the effectiveness of lessons, units, and interactions with students, both individually and with colleagues, and uses insights gained to improve practice and student learning.* Participates in school-wide and subject specific professional development and grade level team times.* Promotes the learning and growth of all students through ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice.* Utilizes: o Informal and formal assessment methods to measure student learning and growth. o Assessment data to provide descriptive feedback to students.

o Uses data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and identify students in need of targeted instruction/interventions* Motivates and engages students and promotes opportunities for students to generate understanding on their own through real world applications.* Uses inclusive instructional practices to account for differences in students learning needs.* Promotes collaboration in the context of math instruction and learning experiences.* Sets high standards for student work, effort, and behavior.Skills * Knowledge of differentiated instruction and assessment* Ability to design and/or modify curriculum; experience assessing student competencies * Ability to create and use authentic resources and materials to motivate students to participate in learning experiences and activities* Knowledge of diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion practices SIZER SCHOOLSizer School is located in Fitchburg, MA, draws from cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts, and is chartered to serve 400 students in grades 7-12.
