Primary Responsibilities:

The Human Resource Generalist will have an understanding of the unique environment of working for a DoD Contractor. They will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including:

  • Collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Screening qualified job applicants for open positions based on contractual requirements.
  • Preparing paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Handling all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and other HR items, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate member of the HR team.
  • Enforcing company policies and practices and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Acting as the primary backup for maintaining the HRIS.
  • Assists with/implements employee recognition programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Experience/Education:


Required

  • One (1) year of Human Resources experience for a DoD Contractor.
  • Minimum of One (1) year recruiting and interviewing experience.
  • Familiar with EEO compliance guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Allowable Experience/Education Substitutions
:

  • An additional four (4) years of Human Resources experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
