Job Summary:


This is an opportunity to join The Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in a fast-paced Human Resources role with a variety of duties in payroll, compensation, immigration, employee relations, and to serve as a resource to 100+ faculty, research, exempt professional and student workers answering general questions and providing HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation:

  • Works with Division Administrator to establish appropriate salaries for new hires, promotions, and reappointments.

Payroll:

  • Serves as Division’s Payroll Liaison monitoring, and managing all payroll transactions for the Division, including entering leave and time collection.

Immigration:

  • Coordinates with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) to assist international employees with necessary paperwork for various visa processes.

Employee Relations:

  • Uses constructive methods to provide guidance and options to management, faculty, and staff to resolve conflicts and improve relationships in the work environment.

General Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource to 100+ faculty and staff answering general questions and providing HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of human resource experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Payroll processes.
  • Experience with Compensation practices.
  • Experience with Employee Relations practices.
  • Experience or knowledge of immigration and visa processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices

Anticipated Pay Range:


The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $57,428 - $73,049.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
