Position: Intelligence Analyst, GS-7/9
Location: You will be assigned in San Juan, Puerto Rico. While in IA Basic Field Training Course (BFTC) you will receive the Washington, DC locality pay.

Salary: GS - 7: $46,696.00 - $60,703.00
GS - 9: $57,118.00 - $74,250.00
Full Performance level: GS-14

Duration: Full Time/Permanent
- Must be a US citizen.
- You must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI security clearance.
- You must be in compliance with the FBI’s Drug Policy
- Must successfully pass all phases of the FBI Background Investigation, including a polygraph exam and a drug screening.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Must successfully pass a series of assessments, known as the IA Selection Process (IASP).
- Must successfully complete the 12-week Intelligence Basic Field Training Course (BFTC) at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. This is a full-time in-residence program.
- Must sign a mobility service agreement indicating your willingness to relocate to any field office, based on the needs of the FBI. Applicants will receive some moving expenses based on your new office assignment.
- Must adhere to the two-year probationary period starting from the effective date of their assignment.

Major Duties
- Responds to requests to downgrade the information or to clear for additional recipients with close supervision and coaching.
- Reviews FBI communications to identify and evaluate the intelligence information therein.
- Prepares and disseminates the intelligence information while protecting sources and investigations through correct document classification and controls.
- Communicates with FBI field offices, Legal Attachés (Legats), analysts, and members of the Intelligence Community (IC), policy, and law enforcement communities to gain a better understanding of sources, operations, missions, and requirements.
- Assists in the preparation of collection instructions, guides, and manuals for FBI entities and interaction with outside entities to facilitate their initiatives.
- May assist the senior analyst in debriefing sources liaison services, individual(s) arrested, and/or detainees to exploit the intelligence information for analysis.
- Basic analysis to include collation of raw, primary, and secondary data derived from various sources such as automated data base systems, operational intelligence reports, miscellaneous communications, case files, internal and external automation systems, and other sources. After determining the validity and veracity of the information gleaned from reliable sources, presents all pertinent information to the appropriate senior analysts or case agents. If discrepancies are found, locates and verifies the legitimacy or veracity of data.

Education
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university.
GS-07: Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level education. Superior Academic achievement is the completion of all the requirements of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average of 3.0 or higher as recorded on an official transcript, or as based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum, or (3) honor society membership.
OR
Meet the definition of a Graduating Senior and is expected to complete all degree requirements within nine months of application.
GS-09: Applicant must have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
