The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Maintenance Machine Repair located in Holland, MI. We are the country’s premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped directly to our clients.

Primary Purpose of Position:

At The Stow Company, the Maintenance Team is a key part of our dynamic and growing team! Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic/Machine Repair will help to maintain production equipment and facilities to enable teams to safely manufacture high quality products in an efficient, timely, and complete manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Complete a variety of projects as assigned
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and PLC issues
• Utilize basic machining tools, powered hand tools, and other maintenance-related equipment
• Read machine drawings and control schematics
• Apply electrical, electronic, and PLC experience
• Adhere to all safety requirements
• Participate in problem-solving initiatives, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing activities
• Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Machine journeyman’s card, or 8 years documented experience in machine repair position

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills
• Exhibit strong attention to detail
• Solid analytical skills
• Able to work quickly and efficiently
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must have an excellent attendance record
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Actively participates in all team meetings and events
• Valid Drivers License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, etc. using arms, legs and agility
• Able to maintain balance in various locations/situations while standing or crouching
• Able to perform full range of body movements, such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Must be capable of reaching by extending hands and arms in any direction
• Able to walk briskly and/or stand continuously throughout the length of a work shift
• Able to provide and receive communication in an environment with a high level of ambient noise
• Able to perform activities requiring repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers
• Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds independently
• Possesses strong visual acuity
• Able to tolerate an environment where sawdust particles are present
• Able to function in narrow aisles or passageways
• Able to withstand occasional instances of extreme cold
• Able to drive Powered Lift Equipment

The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
