STL Staffing is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. The responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure all machines, tools, equipment and the entire facility are properly serviced and are in good working order. This is for a manufacturing facility, must have prior experience working on industrial equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Machine Technician

Performs maintenance related work in the following areas:

• Machines, equipment and small tools for all departments
• Electrical work
• Follows written and verbal instructions in an efficient manner
• Performs and records all work according to the preventative maintenance schedule
• Dismantles and assembles machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, power and hand tools and recognizes and reports worn and/or damaged parts
• Responsible for and/or keeps adequate inventory on items required as replacement parts
• Supervise maintenance helpers as required
• Reports abuse and/or negligence to any plant equipment or machines
• Reports and/or corrects any unsafe machines and equipment
• Reads, understands and follows instructions from machining diagrams and equipment manuals
• Works under a minimum amount of supervision
• Overtime as required
• Works both or either shift when required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Experience of a Machine Technician:

• Must be able to read, understand, and follow instructions from machining diagrams and equipment manuals
• Must be able to work safely from ladders and/or scaffolding
• Must be knowledgeable in the use and operation of all hand power tools
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
• Must be capable of working under minimum amount of supervision
• Able to effectively communicate in both technical and user-friendly language when appropriate, with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
• Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
