How you will impact Southern States Cooperative:
Perform quality and safety compliance review for Company Owned Retail (COR) and Member Coop Energy Operations: Review of work product performed by SSC personnel for the installations, maintenance and repair of propane and/or oil burning systems, HVAC units, equipment, and appliances for Southern States Cooperative, Inc. (SSC) customers. Provide oversite for proper training protocol compliance; including, but not limited to, CETP certification skills assessment(s), practical knowledge hands on training; including regular ride-alongs with new and seasoned SSC personnel. Strictly references and adheres to government regulations and SSC operating procedures while working independently.

(SSC) customers. Strictly references and adheres to government regulations and SSC operating procedures while working independently.
- Maintain regular communication with Local and Corporate Energy Operations Management regarding safety and quality review for both COR and Member Coop Energy Service and combination location operations. Provide safety and compliance oversight for the installation of tanks, appliances, fuel systems and related equipment. Provide verbal and written feedback on service and maintenance protocols and scheduling processes for all COR and Member Coop locations.
- Demonstrate advanced installation and repair knowledge and skills. Provide guidance and coaching to Service Technicians on repair, installation and maintenance of equipment, and discussing equipment needs with customers. Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Conduct existing customer site surveys and identify if products and equipment meet safety, quality, and capacity requirements. Communicate both positive & negative findings and proposed remedies to Energy Operations Management and other key stake holders. Assist in the coordination of established remedies to ensure all safety and quality standards are satisfied and the expectations of the customer are met at all times.
- Perform safety compliance and quality review for propane, oil burning, diesel and/or gasoline systems, equipment and appliances according to federal, State and local codes. Review COR and Member Coop Energy customer files to ensure all required systems testing has been performed and properly documented.
- Perform CETP skills assessments for eligible new and seasoned COR employees. Promote additional training opportunities for employees in the areas of customer service, operations, safety, product knowledge and day to day operations.
- Perform hands on technical training in conjunction with ride-alongs for new and seasoned Energy Service and Delivery personnel.
- Submit required reporting in a timely manner.
- Represent SSC in a positive manner by providing reliable and prompt service to internal and external customers. Communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
- Effectively operate Southern States Cooperative, Inc. (SSC) commercial motor vehicles in compliance with government regulations and SSC policy. Perform routine maintenance and repair to keep vehicles in good working condition.
- Depending on situation or circumstances, may be required to load and deliver supplies and other materials according to standard operating procedures. Handle and lift canisters into truck and/or utilize load hose, meters, gauges and terminal controls for bulk fuel loading (top load and bottom load).
- Prepare and maintain reports, logs, vehicle and equipment maintenance records and other related documents accurately, neatly and in a timely manner.
- Participate in specialized training, certification courses, and/or meetings as requested. Learn and develop techniques to enhance job performance and to stay current on industry safety and operational standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area by keeping tools, equipment and supplies in proper places. Minimize waste and properly dispose of waste material. Perform all related cleaning of equipment, vehicle and work areas according to Housekeeping Plan and SSC procedures.
- Perform work safely as to not cause harm to yourself, customers and property, co-workers, equipment, or inventory. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Operate all equipment and vehicles according to SSC policy and government regulations. Comply with OSHA regulations, Southern States Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, work rules and policies.
- Perform all other job functions as assigned.
- Requires three (4) or more years of experience with installation and repair of propane or oil based heating systems (HVAC), equipment and appliances, as well as experience with diesel and gasoline equipment.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Previous Southern States work experience a plus.
