Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager ER assists the Director with the operations of the department. The Manager ensures that patient care is provided according to policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. The Manager is also responsible for staffing a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of patient care services. The Manager also oversees orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the
ER. Other duties include being responsible for interviewing and selection, retention, disciplinary actions and terminations of department employees in conjunction with the Director and Human Resources. The Manager maintains 24 hour accountability for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of activities and services of the ER.

What qualifications you will need:

Education required:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field required or must be enrolled in program

and complete within 2 years

Licensure/Certifications required:

Must hold a current GA RN license or eNLC license required. BLS required upon hire.

ACLS required upon hire or within one year. (Certifications must be through AHA or Red

Cross)

Experience:

2+ years ER staff nursing experience required, 3+ years leadership experience preferred (Charge, Coord., etc.)
