Location: Sturgis, MI
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000

We are the leading walk-in van body manufacturer in North America producing over 7,500 vehicles annually. Our portfolio of customers serves a multitude of industries and delivery applications. The primary industry served by these Walk-in vans is parcel package pick up & delivery because most everything ordered on-line is delivered by a Walk-In Stepvan.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, direct, analyze and coordinate manufacturing processes for continuous improvement. This individual will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

What You Will Be Doing
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirement, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Work with Engineering and programming on material requirements and sheet utilization for maximum sheet utilization through nesting programs
- Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient Lean production methods
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
- Drives defects to root cause, implements countermeasure, and reports Customer concern response
- Utilize statistical data to establish base-line metrics, opportunity justification, project prioritization, and gauging / reporting improvement
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field, and/or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing
