Dean Baldwin Painting, a rapidly growing aircraft painting company, established in 1965, is currently seeking a Materials Manager for it's Macon, GA facility. We are looking for an experienced Materials Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including inventory control and supply chain. Success in this role is characterized by excellent organizational, planning and record-keeping skills, and attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude are qualities the ideal candidate must possess. The goal is to ensure our operations always have an adequate supply and flow of the materials & ensure proper tracking of materials for inventory control & financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Management of daily warehouse operations, including inventory controls, purchasing, receiving, material tracking per job, forecasting, expiration date tracking, planning, financial reporting & team leadership.
- Strong working knowledge of Inventory Control practices, including discrepancy resolution, root cause determination and correction.
- The ability to make decisions, problem solve and prioritize assignments in an ever-changing, warehouse environment.
- Plan, implement and monitor inventory control procedures to optimize inventory control and to maintain adequate yet cost effective levels of supplies.
- Strong leadership & planning backgrounds to develop, and promote goals, objectives, and schedules for the warehouse team of two to properly manage the flow and quality of work.
- Monitors production schedules, inventory reports to determine the type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority.
- Responsible for entering purchase orders in SAGE 100 accounting software, monitoring, and tracking status of orders and communication with suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain.
- Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs.
- Oversees receiving of goods to ensure proper receiving, labeling & storage.
- Responsible for purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications.
- Responsible for negotiating, searching for the best pricing & maintaining good working relationships with suppliers.
- Responsible for tracking budgets & identifying trends of each aircraft by closely monitoring usage of materials per aircraft, including oversight of accurately stocking cages of preset inventory (pick list), documenting additional materials used & returning unused materials back into inventory.
- Confers with production personnel to determine status of projects to determine if overage will be needed on floor.
- Systematically analyzes trend data to determine if changes need to be made to pick lists.
- Responsible for ensuring proper inventory is selected, documented, and loaded into cages for on time delivery to onsite production floor.
- Leads quarterly physical inventory.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Skills
- Detail Oriented & Organized - A MUST
- 5 or more years in a Materials Manager role
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Sage 100 ERP Experience a plus
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Excellent understanding of forecasting and budgeting
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- A problem-solver
