Green Key Resources is representing a supplier of Medical Billing Platform who is seeking an experienced Medical Biller o join their team! This position is 100% remote and flexible in any time zone. Please note, this is full time, but is 1099.

The Medical Biller function is responsible for working closely with operations team to triage and resolve medical billing issues related to claims submitted by our provider clients to insurance across a range of medical specialties.

  • Specific responsibilities for the Medical Biller role include but are not limited to:
  • Call insurance in order to research, investigate and resolve claim and payment issues (claim status and eligibility checks, denied claims, ERA and A/R reconciliation);
  • Work with the operations team in order to prioritize and resolve the most critical claims, billing and payments issues as they arise;
  • Accessing and navigating insurance web portals, entering data retrieved from those systems into other systems;
  • Ability to read, understand and extract key information from medical explanation of benefits;
  • Learn and master the (simple) billing management system – including but not limited to entering data into web application and Google Drive.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in a medical biller role
  • Experienced with modern software/productivity tools: Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to learn/adapt to new medical billing processes, systems and terminology
  • Fluent in English
  • Skillset priorities (in priority order)
  • Thorough and reliable: demonstrated track record of thorough and reliable work products – the quality, consistency and completeness of the work can be trusted and relied upon.
  • Investigative mindset: demonstrated experience of active problem solving on the fly when encountering issues with insurance.

  • Each denied claim represents to us an opportunity to learn – taking the time to understand the reasoning behind billing issues is crucial.
  • Detail oriented, strong communication and organizational skills: the person is detail-oriented, capable of clear written and verbal communications, and can be relied upon to communicate when they encounter issues or have questions.
  • In addition to being critical for enabling candidates to work effectively with our team, strong communication skills are important for ensuring that we are capturing key information during interactions with insurance and relaying that information back to our team (most often in written form).
