The Network Security Engineer 1 will be responsible for implementation and maintenance of security solutions for the organization's network infrastructure. They will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the organization's networks is secure and meet compliance standards.

• 
  Implement and maintain security solutions for the organization’s network infrastructure.
• Assists with monitoring and management of security technologies such as web filtering, spam filtering and AV policies. Responsible for ensuring policies are applied and pushed appropriately.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches and respond to security incidents.
• Configure and manage network security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems and VPNs.
• Provides support for production network systems.
• Defines network security protocol and supporting policies corporate-wide.
• Identifies, evaluates, selects, and implements vendors, tools, equipment, and services to support and maintain network infrastructure and security protocol including network penetration and vulnerability testing corporate-wide.
• Manages the daily activities of LAN/WAN/Voice systems, network monitoring, performs diagnostics, schedules preventative maintenance to ensure availability of LAN/WAN/Voice systems.
• Consults with departments and provides technical expertise and budgetary numbers regarding future network requirements.
• Ensures proper documentation of network specifics and diagrams.
• Develops policies/standards for all network attached devices.
• Maintains current knowledge of technology and new computer applications.
• Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team
• Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; AND two (2) years of professional experience in the installation and management of networks, including design work and troubleshooting major outages; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
