Position Description
ERT is seeking a motivated individual to provide off the shelf software support for NOAA’s meteorological/environmental satellite missions. Duties include support for the monitoring and administration the health and status of GOES-R ground system assets to ensure continuity of Product Operations and enterprise management services at all three GOES-R operations and maintenance locations sites (Wallops Command and Data Acquisition Station (WCDAS), Wallops Island, VA; Remote Backup (RBU), Fairmont, WV; and NOAA Satellite Operation Facility (NSOF), Suitland, MD).

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and analyze product performance and quality \Create event monitoring and product performance reports
• Perform trouble shooting and root cause analysis on anomalies, quality, and performance issues
• Administer and maintain product applications using Oracle WebLogic managed application servers
• Support system operators by maintaining COTS SW applications for GOES-R Ground Systems Enterprise Management (EM) to ensure configuration and performance as designed
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalations received through the GOES-R ticketing system and/or phone calls in a timely manner

Required Skills
2+ Years of experience leading to:

• Experience with Configuration and Management of OpenAudit, MySql, Php, Nagios and Ansible.
• Experience with IBM Tivoli tool suite including – OMNIBUS, Probes, ITM, ITNM, DASH, TBSM/Impact and MAXIMO.
• Experience in scripting – shell (ksh, csh or bash), python or perl.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux or other Linux OS and/or Unix
• Strong interpersonal and excellent teamwork skills

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to access the applicable government facility/systems.

Desired

Experience with the following OTS software applications is a plus:

• Active Directory
• Database applications (e.g., Oracle)
• Experience with WebLogic
• Experience with programming languages – Java and C/C++, Javascript, Php
• PKI
• Windows Server

Education
BS/BA in engineering, computer science, related discipline, or equivalent.

Location
Work is to be completed on-site at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD. Hybrid on site / telework schedule possible.
