A family-owned company that manufactures products for military and industrial applications is hiring an Outside Sales Manager for their growing market. They have build a family style culture where they value each and every employee. They provide real growth potential in addition to offering a generous compensation and benefit package. The position is based out of the Norfolk, Virginia area with the a hybrid work schedule.

The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for managing and achieving sales to customers. The Outside Sales rep will conduct sales activities and build relationships with new customers including promoting and recommending products or services that match the customer needs based on market analysis and potential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate should plan to work as ambassadors and are responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers They must build trust and act as support for prospects, ensuring they lead to potential future sales.
  • Develops a plan to increase company brand position
  • Demonstrate equipment and provide product application feedback.
  • Facilitate the success of sales, marketing, and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor dealer inventory levels and drive business adjustments as required.
  • Secure and develop new customers
  • Oversee sound merchandising practices in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and enhances dealer personnel in competitive strategies, product knowledge and management skills.
  • Provides Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Engineering team members with field input on existing products, competitive strategies, new product ideas, consumer/commercial trends and programming development.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a manufacturing or engineering background
  • Providing quality customer service including identifying and resolving customer complaints and building relationships with customers.
  • Ability to identify and sell products based upon customer needs or plans.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Problem solver with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years documented successful outside sales experience.
  • Previous experience in growing and managing dealer relationships.
  • Proven sales performer with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Background/knowledge of manufacturing required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
