Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates Degree, or related work experience;
  • Minimum two years experience in I.T. related field;
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access;
  • Knowledge of Database Development;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and private vehicle;
  • Such alternatives as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Terms of Employment:

12 month position – Salary to be determined by the Board

Job Goal:

Assists the Technology Manager in planning, directing, implementing, operating, maintaining and upgrading the District’s informational systems.

ALL TECHNICIANS:

  • Works as part of a team to coordinate planning, scheduling and executing computer equipment installations and determine project scopes and limitations;
  • Assists in developing short/long term strategies and capacity planning to meet future needs;
  • Supports the development and implementation of new computer programs;
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in hardware and software technologies obtaining clear knowledge of their functions;
  • Keeps informed of technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations;
  • Enhances skills by earning certification endorsements in specialist areas of technology;
  • Preserves the confidentiality of all students, parents/guardians and employees;
  • Performs such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Technology Manager.

PC TECHNICIAN

Duties and

  • Identify the source of PC and server faults:

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots end user peripheral devices, workstation hardware and networking hardware;
  • Provides end user support, assistance and training on operation issues;
  • Performs diagnosis, analysis and resolution of complicated PC problems providing feedback on corrective solutions;
  • Monitors and tests PC performance providing reports as needed;
  • Assists in planning, scheduling and executing computer equipment installations, upgrades and replacement projects;
  • Installs and supports common applications such as anti-virus software;
  • Establishes the needs of users and monitors user access and security.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Windows, and Apple products.
  • Assists in installing telecommunications equipment providing support for handsets, voicemail and new/emerging telecommunications related technology.

  • Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a technology team;
  • Ability to assist users with software and hardware direction;
  • Ability to define problem areas, collect and interprets data, establish facts and interpret technical instructions;
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet strict deadlines;
  • Ability to organize, schedule and execute tasks efficiently and effectively;
  • Ability to reason-out and analyze logical steps;
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology;
  • Ability to meet daily attendance requirements.

Evaluation:

  • Performance of these positions will be evaluated by the Technology Manager in accordance with the Board’s policy on “Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.”
