Denver Human Services is seeking a dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the One Line Navigation team in the Placement Support Services Section of the Child Welfare Division as a Placement Services Background Check Operations Assistant.
Overall, the Placement Services Background Check Operations Assistant will:
  • Answer the One Line phone from 8:00am-4:30pm and gather all pertinent information from the caller to complete background checks, Accurint pulls, or paid out of home placement
  • Monitor and track all incoming requests in Outlook
  • Perform background checks with attention to detail and accuracy utilizing various databases(TRAILS, Denver Courts, Colorado Courts, etc.)
  • Schedule and conduct fingerprints for foster, kinship and new hires and monitor the SDDS system for fingerprint results and flags
  • Handle sensitive and confidential issues, complaints and inquiries in a courteous, respectful and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You
We are looking for someone with some or all of the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Superior knowledge of internet search tools
  • The ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to handle a multitask environment and manage time effectively
  • Be willing and able to occasionally work past 4:30pm to complete emergency background, Accurint checks and fingerprinting
  • Natural inclination of urgency and diligence in accomplishing work tasks and goals
  • Strong knowledge of child welfare policy and local child protection laws as it relates to background check and diligent search requirements
  • Extensive and applicable working knowledge of Volume 7 and pertinent rules and regulations regarding out of home placement
  • The ability to demonstrate and deliver a high level of customer service

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • Experience: Three (3) years of clerical or technical operational support
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement
  • Licensure & Certification: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
