Your Opportunity

Herrera seeks a Project Accountant to join our team. The geographic base location of this position can be Seattle, Bellingham, Portland or Missoula. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Contract/project setup, monitor project progress and compliance, project closeout, and maintain organization of project information/files
  • Assist with contract review, process contract amendments and consultant agreements and amendments
  • Prepare monthly invoices in accordance with contract requirements, review sub-consultant invoices for accuracy and compliance, enter sub-consultant invoices
  • Update project budgets, track project billing status and monitor receivables
  • Assist project managers with project planning, monitoring project budgets, and tracking consultant progress
  • Work on special projects as needed


Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 years project accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (high proficiency in Excel) and Adobe
  • Excellent writing and organization skills
  • Accuracy and acute attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication with emphasis on customer service and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
  • Able to assess and reprioritize workload to meet deadlines


Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the A&E industry preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or project management (or equivalent education and experience)

  • This position is hourly/ non-exempt and eligible for overtime; the hourly pay ranges by level and work experience are:
    • Level II (2-3 years) $26.63 - $36.82
    • Level III (4-5 years) $38.48 - $48.67
