Job description

This is a one-year position to build a custom home in Addison County, VT. PM will be responsible for every aspect of completing this project within one year of breaking ground.

Responsibilities include:

Interface with clients during construction phase. Help prepare material take offs and project estimates.

Create and follow project timeline, maintain weekly work plans and meet incremental goals.

Supervise employees and subcontractors on jobsite, prepare daily job lists, monitor subcontractor progress and help schedule work flow. Explain worksite procedures and safety practices. Make sure subs have all the information and support they need to perform their tasks efficiently. Be a problem solver, plan more than put out fires, challenge and critique as well as monitor others work.

Be prepared to work alongside others as needed and expected. Requires adaptability and flexibility to shift gears constantly.

Order materials in a timely fashion in order to avoid delays. Manage worksite to protect materials and tools, garbage, traffic, and visitors. Maintain equipment in top working order.

Work with GC to review budget vs actual project costs, develop options for cost savings, make projections for finishing jobs.

Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of timber frame/residential construction, house building project management, and use of specialized tools. Other woodworking and carpentry experience and tools required.

Must read and follow shop drawings, have good understanding of building math, be highly accurate, and have strong problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of Sketchup a plus. Organizational abilities, time management, cost control, and aesthetics are all necessary.

Supervisory skills that will motivate and guide several employees/subs on a daily basis. Careful handling of subcontractors, clients, prospects, and bankers.

Must be physically capable of moving heavy materials on a daily basis.

Must own and use specific tools of the trade as required.

Be a team player, self-motivated, flexible and good-natured.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
