About this Position:
As a team member whose job contributes to the Solution system division working on Electric and Autonomous off-road and marine products. This person will lead and support the technical fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of our high-level off-road fleet of vehicles to enhance productivity, safety, and business use case potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical Operations Fabrication Lead
- Functional leader of the machining and fabrication space including maintenance, safety, training, while maintaining current and future technical capability to support the business and delivery schedules
- Meet with suppliers that require machine and fab expertise to bring their part quality up to our spec, standards, and requirements
- Fabrication and Design
- Machine parts and fabricate weldments to drawing spec and tolerances to meet project milestones
- Create test and weld fixtures as needed for project testing
- Report part schedules to keep build events and report to project leaders
- Lead Prototype Vehicle Fleet Management
- Maintain prototype and proof of concept vehicles so they are mechanically sound,
safe, and fit to perform as intended
- Work with the System Engineering team to overcome mechanical issues and report
root cause/ counter measures
- Support vehicle demonstrations in the field resolving technical and mechanical issues as required for a successful showing
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 10+ years of metal fabrication and vehicle maintenance
Required Education:
- 2 year technical trade school in metal fabrication or 10+ years experience in related field
Desired skills:
- Strong leadership capability, ability to delegate tasks
- Must be able to operate with high level of confidentiality
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance
- Expert in understanding engineering drawings, title block, and HES
- Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making, and prioritization skills
- Expert Stratasys FDM machine maintenance and calibration
- Competent in prototype assembly and using hand tools
- Expert metal and materials knowledge
- Expert in 5S principals
