PRN Registered Nurse - Gastroenterology / Endoscopy, Outpatient Pavilion

Come join our Perioperative Services team in its new, state-of-the-art, 230,000 sq. ft. Outpatient Pavilion, in Arlington, VA! This new site-of-care (as seen below) is scheduled to open Summer of 2023 and will host 6 ORs, 6 GI Rooms and 3 Procedural Rooms. As our campus expands, now is the time to get your foot in the door and grow with VHC Health! Utilizing Med/Surg nursing skills, the Registered Nurse-Gastroenterology/Endoscopy is a highly respected member of Virginia Hospital Center's widely renowned GI department. The GI Registered Nurse collaboratively works with the physician and other team members in all procedure areas of GI/Endoscopy serving both inpatients and outpatients. GI/Endoscopy Nurse will respond to a variety of needs with procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCPs, and PEG placements. In this fast paced environment you can expect set hours, scheduling options (10s/12s) and minimal on-call hours (every couple weeks for 8 hrs).

Qualifications:
  • RN Licensure with Reciprocity in the state of Virginia
  • BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR
  • American Heart Association ACLS Certification
  • Strong Med/Surg experience required. Will provide procedure training.
  • Telemetry experience preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to facilitate successful interactions with physicians and team members
Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in working towards the organizational and departmental goals for providing exceptional patient experiences.
  • Collaborates with patient and healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and/or evaluate patient's plan of care.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to industry standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and benchmarks.
  • Consistently assesses, identifies and addresses patient's educational needs and barriers to learning.
  • Maintains safe working environment and patient safety by complying with hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills to perform all duties required to care for patients.
