Job description
The primary responsibilities include obtaining informed consent from potential research participants, collecting data, entering data into project databases, and conducting literature reviews for manuscript preparation. This role involves interacting with leadership, staff, and patients and families to conduct data collection, records management, data reporting, and quality assurance. A key focus of this role is ensuring accurate, timely, and complete data capture. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Job Functions
- Recruit and enroll participants for research studies
- Ensure data capture based on operational protocol requirements of data collection
- Provide technical assistance to participants regarding data collection via phone, email, and/or onsite support
- Perform data entry and verification
- Conduct data quality checks to identify potential data entry errors and execute the data quality management plan
- Generate status reports on data collection efforts
- Identify and problem-solve data collection barriers
- Provide data collection support across a range of projects
- Assist project leadership team in planning, developing, and executing new data-related research or programmatic improvement activities.
- Perform other research or outcomes projects duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with data collection, entry, and/or management preferred
- Familiarity with research methods, specifically data collection and management techniques
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Strong communication skills for the gathering, evaluating, and conveying of information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
- Proficiency in REDCap data entry and database management preferred
- Proficiency in Epic Electronic Medical Record Software preferred
- CITI certification and IRBNet experience preferred
The Research Assistant on this project will recruit and schedule participants for data collection. The role will require coordinating with patients and families and staff by phone, email, and in-person for data collection purposes. Data collection will include questionnaires, neuropsychological evaluations and semi-structured interviews with participants.
