As a FOOD+BEER manger you are the liaison between the guests and the service/kitchen staff. A FOOD+BEER manager is hands on and leads by example by fostering a culture of “I wouldn’t ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do myself”. Every guest’s experience is important to you and setting the vibe is a big deal for the host of the party. As an industry professional, serving a scratch made unique dish is very important to you. So much so that you eye every plate coming out of the kitchen and make sure it is truly Instagram worthy.

FOOD+BEER has grown to 5 restaurants in Sarasota & Manatee Counties in just under five years. Our locations are West Bradenton, Gulf Gate, Fruitville & 75, Venice Island and in the Rosemary District, downtown Sarasota. Our Story...

In 2018 two friends opened a small local sports bar in Sarasota's Gulf Gate neighborhood. They applied the knowledge they had gained working and managing in restaurants over the years and decided to develop their own concept. We decided though however that this concept would be different. If this was our restaurant the food had to be fresh & cutting edge. There had to be variety, not just fried food & cheap draft beer. This had to be a neighborhood hangout place... for dates, friends, family dinners, late night snacks, sporting events... and really and other excuse you have to come and EAT FOOD, DRINK BEER!

JOB DUTIES

· Creating authentic, custom guest experiences through a high level of attention and service

· Ensure quality in service, both in production and execution.

· Oversight of 40+ employees

· Championing all marketing initiatives & daily specials. Aware of popular sporting events and ensuring they are on TV.

· Responsible for all functional areas of operations management

· Responsible for coaching and mentoring team and managing all HR issues. Effectively communicating issues with company ownership.

· Providing coaching, counseling, appropriate documentation, and employee development for all staff.

· Ability to communicate effectively with team members, both BOH and FOH, Management, and Community

· Oversee and maintain all in-house cash handling procedures.

· Involved in planning events for holidays and special occasions.

· Creating a fun bar type party atmosphere while still maintaining a professional leadership role. Organizing the fun but not getting caught up in it!

Experience:

  • Full service restaurant management: 2 years (Required) or strong bar management or leadership position in high volume bar with food.
  • Proven success in previous positions
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication, and training
  • Stable and consistent work history in the Hospitality Field
  • Confident in coaching employees FOH & BOH and upholding standards in a positive and effective manner.
  • Has eye for detail and has an "every dish is an Instagram picture" mentality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year base plus bonus. Attainable monthly bonus in additional to salary compensation.
