Monday through Friday (3 pm to 11:30 pm)Salary: $18.00 per hourJOB SUMMARY: To provide and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment for students and staff. QUALIFICATIONS: -High School Diploma or equivalent-Must pass a background checkREPORTS TO: -Head Custodian and PrincipalRESPONSIBILITIES: -Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.-Perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.-Assist in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeteria.-Work with cleaning chemicals and be able to use and ensure safety of self and other when using.-Perform grounds maintenance.-Ensure heating and cooling systems are operational.-Maintain a neat and orderly janitor room; ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.-Assist in examining the school for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to the head custodian, principal, and/or the Facilities Manager.-Keep school clean and orderly.-Interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at the school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.-Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Custodian and/or Principal.Adheres to: -Code of Ethics for New Hampshire Educators -Guiding Principles: The Code of Ethics for New Hampshire Educators-All district school board policies and procedures-All district handbooksSKILLS AND ABILITIESThis position requires: -Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions-Detail-oriented and thorough.-Dependability -Adaptability/flexibility-Integrity-Initiative-Persistence-Cooperation-Making decisions and solving problems-Communicating with supervisors and colleaguesTECHNOLOGY SKILLS: -Electronic mail software-Google applications-Digital systems for equipment or building PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: -Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.-Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking up to eight hours; 5% sitting, 35% standing, and 60% walking.-Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds.-Exposure to a variety of childhood/adult diseases and illnesses.-May be exposed to bodily fluids.-Exposure to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.-Work both outside and inside in varying conditions.-Exposure to a range of heating, air conditioning and ventilation conditions.-Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but can be noisy at times.EMPLOYMENT STATUS: -Non-Exempt from overtime pay-Full-time = 30 hours or more per week-On-site-Benefits as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
