HydroGeoLogic, Inc. (HGL) has a position open for a Senior Site Safety and Health Officer - IV. in Durango, CO to support HGL's growing business. HGL offers a dynamic work environment for creative, energetic professionals.Responsibilities/Duties
The successful candidate will work onsite in Durango, CO until Oct./Nov. 2023, then work remotely after that and be responsible developing and implementing the Site Health and Safety Plan for the project (following EM 385 1-1). Including significant interfacing with program and project managers, senior technical staff, the government customer as well as project field personnel including subcontractors.Responsible for assuring compliance with the Site Health and Safety plan, USACE Safety manual EM385-1-1 requirements, implementing, and enforcing project Safety Plans/Programs. This will include conducting daily safety meetings with on-site personnel, conducting safety audits, evaluating work activities and identifying process improvements, ensuring worker certifications and trainings are current, create Activity Hazard Analysis's, maintain records and implement a lessons learned/safety process improvement program.
Position will require travel for extended period to job sites.
Required Skills
Required skills include: excellent communication and organization; working with and maintaining confidential information; strong technical writing and documentation; managing work under detailed and strict USACE Safety requirements; including performance of inspections/audits, and documentation; and maintaining current records and providing factual evidence that required safety requirements have been met.Required Experience
This position requires a minimum of 5 plus years of directly applicable experience performing the onsite functions of Site Health and Safety officer IV at demolition, construction or environmental remediation sites for USACE.The successful candidate will have experience performing the duties noted below:
- Experience with federal (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, other DoD, USEPA or DOE) environmental remediation projects
- Experience with USACE EMS 385 1-1
- Certification as a Competent Person in Fall Protection a plus
- Experience with projects involving asbestos, lead and PCB abatement a plus
- Experience with environmental construction of earth support systems, dewatering of excavations, material handling and transport, water treatment, infrastructure installation and repair, and building abatement and demolition. Experience with abandoned mine reclamation and/or sediment removal a plus.
Required Education
A minimum of an Associate Degree in environmental, health and safety or construction field with 7+ years of experience is required. A B.S. degree with 5+ years is preferred.Required Qualifications
Current (or ability to complete) 40-hour HAZWOPER, 8-hr Supervisor, 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety training and first aid/CPR a plus. Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification a plus. Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.Ability to work in a group setting with project engineers, other technical management staff, and subcontractors. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. Ability to prepare, maintain, and manage detailed site documentation and records.

This position's initial salary range is $77K - $137K. The final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
