We are currently seeking a Scientist for a position in our Environmental and Earth Sciences practice in Austin, TX. In this role you will work as part of a team of scientists and engineers that participate in a variety of projects related to human and environmental health related issues such as chemical regulations, exposure assessments, Proposition 65 consumer product related risk assessments, and other consumer product safety work. The ideal candidate will lead projects and help to attract new clients in related health science areas focused on state-level regulatory issues across the U.S.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic consulting services
  • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex, challenging problems
  • Reviewing, summarizing, and interpreting scientific literature, regulatory standards, guidance documents, and legal case materials
  • Contributing to the development and writing of complex technical reports
  • Providing project organization and management
  • Providing high quality oral and written client deliverables

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Public Health, Epidemiology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Occupational and/or Environmental Health, or related field
  • Direct experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines, and effectively communicate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong commitment to professional development
