Primary Role:

The Security Installer is part of a team responsible for installing commercial, electronic security solutions for our clients. Products must be installed per code, project specifications, and industry best practices. All work must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Avinext and our clients, while assuring a safe and professional work environment. This is a full-time position that offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth and advancement.

Most work is performed Monday through Friday from 7 am - 5 pm. Some out-of-town travel is required.

Qualifications (required):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license that meets our safe driving requirements
• Must qualify for (or possess and maintain) a valid TxPSB license

Qualifications (preferred):

• Ability to use a multi-meter to test for continuity and voltage
• Experience in structured cabling techniques and standards
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and configuring IP-based systems and devices
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using hand/power tools and equipment as necessary to complete all tasks

Responsibilities:

• Maintain professional appearance and attitude
• Reads, understands, and follows blueprints, project documentation and work orders
• Move product, equipment, and tools to and from job site each day
• Pull, terminate, test, and label cables according to plans
• Drill, trench, suspend cables paths and cable trays as specified
• Install cabling, mount cameras, access control panels, door contacts, mag locks, card readers, electric strikes, power supplies, switches, racks, and other related equipment
• Complete all wiring and equipment installations according to plans
• Remove trash and clean job site daily
• Meet installation deadlines
• Responsible for tracking of time, expenses, tickets, inventory, and tools
• Follow all company, owner, contractor, and OSHA safety guidelines
• Complete weekly safety training and other industry trainings/certifications as required

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

• Employees are required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers
• Ability to see and distinguish colors
• Frequent lifting of heavy objects (50lbs+) is required
• Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required
• Must be able to climb ladders and work on lifts, booms, and scaffolding
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
• Ability to work inside and outside in varying weather conditions
