Senior Manager, Distribution Operations - Outbound

You will provide direct leadership of up to 4 exempt direct reports and indirect leadership of a large non-exempt employee population in an outbound operations of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center. You will oversee the function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget. Develop processes to ensure compliance and employee programs to promote an environment where employees are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of Grainger.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Site Leader and this role is based in our Louisville, KY distribution center. Relocation will also be provided if needed.

• Ensure goals related to operational performance, quality and positive employee relations are communicated and achieved through standardization, sharing of best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Implement staffing strategies so we can fulfill shipping commitments to customers regardless of variations of workflow or business levels.
• Create a dynamic workplace that effects positive employee relationships by developing employee engagement and recognition programs and ensuring all employees are treated fairly, with respect, and have the tools necessary to perform their jobs.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and development to salaried managers this includes interviewing and training, assign and direct work, performance evaluations, and recognition and disciplinary action.
• Develop procedures to improve inventory integrity and manage inventory throughput over $30 million and serving 100,000+ customers.
• Implement policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with Company, OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations with emphasis on hazardous materials and power industrial equipment to reduce work-related injury/illnesses, property damage and workers compensation cost.

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations or equivalent experience
• 5+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.
• Experience leading exempt-level leaders
