We are currently recruiting for a Senior NDS CAD Drafter for one of our clients in the Central NY market.

This is a WFH role with some travel needed to Syracuse, NY (East Coast is preferred)

The ideal candidate will utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) and mapping systems to prepare Outside Plant (Fiber) design drawings for the project team as part of the large-scale telecommunications infrastructure builds. You will train junior CAD drafters and be hands-on in a supervisory and oversight role.

Overview:
The NDS CAD Drafter is responsible for the drafting of both copper and fiber facilities in Lumen/CenturyLink’s NDS system.

Prior CAD Drafter experience with CenturyLink’s NDS system is required.

Responsibilities:
Prepares Telecommunications drawings in the NDS format from preliminary design drawings and/or field sketches

Translates sketches, verbal, and written information into CAD drawings

Organizes the layout of plans, details, and units on the CAD drawings

Qualifications:
Must have prior CAD Drafting experience utilizing CenturyLink’s NDS system

Must have AutoCAD experience also

Basic telephony knowledge is required

Copper and fiber optic cable experience

Working understanding of the RUS (Rural Utility Standards) coding process is preferred
