Who We Need:

The Servicing Specialist I will research and resolve loan documentation issues. This role will also field incoming correspondence from internal and external sources. The Senior Servicing Specialist will manage the oversight of Cardinal’s sub-servicer. This position requires coordination with sub servicer(s) and key internal business partners. The Servicing Specialist I will also complete servicing responsibilities related to daily operations of Cardinal’s serviced portfolio as well as loans that will be sold in an interim servicing stage.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as liaison between Cardinal management and sub-servicer(s) for purposes of managing/escalating issues associated with MI, MIP, taxes, HOI, payoff/disbursements, legal notices, internal inquiries, etc.
  • Assist and Manage MSR flow and bulk sales
  • Handle all levels of mortgage servicing inquiries, verbal and written
  • Develop workable solutions that satisfy our homeowners, our client/investors, and our company
  • Communicates training needs, process improvement recommendations, and departmental concerns to the Director of Servicing, for assistance in resolution
  • Deliver superior level of customer service to internal and external clients by responding to inquiries, resolving problems and researching loan level issues, in a timely manner
  • Opening and distribution of daily mail
  • Responsible to gather and remit in a timely, accurate, organized fashion, all materials related to Servicing Oversight as is required by any and all third-party auditors/regulators.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Need:

  • Broad working knowledge of the mortgage industry; 1 - 3 years
  • Mortgage industry client/customer services experience, minimum 1 year
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of mortgage servicing; minimum of 1 year
  • Ability to effectively implement corporate initiatives set by Senior Management; adapt to change
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with the servicing requirements regarding Agency and Government loan products, programs, guidelines and secondary investor requirements
  • Computer, analytical and organizational experience
  • Robust verbal, written communication and grammar skills
  • Ability to take direction and comprehend training
  • Effectively prioritize, organize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge and recognition of loan related documents; such as, a Mortgage Note, Security Instrument, Closing Disclosure, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products; specifically, Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of Fresh Desk Ticketing system, a plus
  • Working knowledge of Google products and applications a plus
  • Ability to think differently, unconventionally, or from a different or new perspective
