This position has responsibility for the operations of the inbound and outbound processes at our Stow Warehouse by performing the following duties personally or through associate personnel and under the supervision of the Warehouse Operations Manager.
Duties
- Responsible for supervising and receiving all inbound components and transfers from outside suppliers and co-packers. Checks in all products against packing lists and BOL’s. Assigns final location of product and updates software to be in sync with product/pallet movement and lot codes.
- Participates in and supervises the proper unloading and loading of containers and trucks; checks against packing list, Bill of Lading and any other container and truck audit paperwork as assigned. Builds or supervises pallet builds by like item to stated ti-hi; records, counts, stretches, and accurately labels pallets before moving them to warehouse location. Records such location either manually or via a handheld appliance. Other receiving tasks as required.
- Put together FPR samples for customer approvals when required.
- Builds proper pallet ti-hi’s and moves them into location. Responsible for all entry into Xtuple on a timely basis.
- Oversees all raw material cycle counts and ensures they are completed accurately and as scheduled.
- Oversees the movement of raw materials timely as outlined by work orders to WIP and return of all remaining raw materials to proper bays. Enters locations and transfers raw materials into Xtuple.
- Meets efficiency and accuracy goals—product is picked by FIFO standards, pallets are single-item, and any partial boxes are labeled according to warehouse standards.
- Participates in and supervises the proper loading of containers and trucks; checks against pick list, Bill of Lading and any other container and truck audit paperwork as assigned. Builds or supervises pallet builds to stated ti-hi; records and accurately allocates pallets before approving truck load. Other shipping supervision as required.
- Oversees and is responsible for training and managing appropriate Warehouse Staffers.
- Responsible for being a positive, focused team player. This includes participating in any necessary training specific to the area of the warehouse assigned and understanding that such assignments may change based on need and ability.
- Adheres to and follows Company GMP’s. Participates in any Food Safety training and production meetings necessary to understand and properly perform job functions.
- Responsible for area site security notifies supervisor of any unidentified warehouse personnel; ensures warehouse doors are not propped open and that they close securely behind him. Does not allow admittance of strangers to facility.
- Special project assignments as needed may include taking part in the inventory and general maintenance of the warehouse.
- Maintains a clean facility in accordance with SQF Standards and Company GMP’s. May be asked to participate in Company audits, meetings and training sessions as dictated by Quality Assurance Manager.
- Understands the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard.
- Has responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). Has defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.
- Works with the Quality team to pull all required samples to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Required to work a flexible schedule, Overtime when necessary.
- Proficiency in MS office programs
- Knowledge of GMP/SQF requirements
- Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
- Safety trained.
- Strong continuous improvement skills
