The Spa Director at The Salt Spa at the Reeds at Shelter Haven is directly responsible for all spa operations including guest services, purchasing, staff performance, forecasting financial goals, and to consistently achieve or exceed the spa’s financial goals. The Spa Director is expected to be available and presentable to all spa guests. They are expected to have advanced knowledge in spa budgeting and forecasting, treatments, products, materials, trends, and retail fashions. The Spa Director is responsible for maintaining the stock, appearance, and staff of the retail outlet.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations pertaining to operating a salon and spa.

· Maintain and cultivate a high-quality staff of therapists, nail techs, receptionists, and retail associates through coaching, mentoring, and specific feedback.

· Work with the General Manager to set department goals, budgets, and benchmarks and complete payroll correctly and on time.

· Accurately complete the spa’s financial forecasts and submit to the General Manager on time for every financial period.

· Prepare and process daily reports; point out trends or other points of significance to General Manager.

· Oversee daily work assignments, performance, and guest interaction of spa employees.

· Assist guests with their requests and questions in an effort to provide world-class guest service.

· Ensure the presentability and maintenance of all materials, fixtures, and furniture.

· Order supplies, inventory, and set up retail displays that attract guest attention and result in increased sales.

· Continuously explore, learn, and study the spa industry’s trends and fashions.

· Lead by example when interacting with guests at all times.

· Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Technical Skills: We* require 5-8 years* of advanced experience coordinating the day to day schedule of spa services; forecasting, setting, and driving spa revenue benchmarks; managing many different personalities to fulfill a common goal; and proven ability to provide world-class guest service.

· Leadership and Management: Demonstrated understanding and practice of motivational management techniques. We require 3 years of proven leadership experience.

· Customer Service and Professionalism: Proven experience serving as a role model and setting the standard for all staff to maintain high-quality and consistent customer service.

· Problem Solving, Quality Control, and Priority Assessment: Must evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and suggest ways to improve current business methods and services provided.

· Communication: Commitment to details both verbally and non-verbally and ability to encourage cooperative and consistent levels of communication with the property guests, front-end staff and management. Must understand instructions, read written company information and communicate with little or no additional direction.

· Interpersonal Relationships: Ability to adapt to different personalities of guests, staff and outside vendors without losing focus. Must possess high professional ethics and avoid extreme familiarity or conflicts with others.

· Conflict Management: Capacity to recognize problems when they arise and be able to resolve them appropriately by using good judgement, tact, and initiative according to company policy and procedure. Requires unbiased communication skills to handle all types of conflicts that will occur at all levels of supervision and the ability to negotiate effectively.

· Perform General Physical Activities: Ability to perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate to maximum strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, handling materials.

· Flexibility: Must be available to work overtime when needed, assist with the workload of others, and perform other duties as assigned.
