Candidates must possess a current teaching license/certification in Spanish.Create an engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning, appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students and innovated with the type of activities used in a classroom. Plans a program of study with department colleagues that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.Establish and implement classroom rules and expectations for classroom behavior that maintain order in the classroomResponsible for the effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instructionResponsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including 1:1 technology Provide regular and timely assessment and feedback for student workWork collaboratively with department colleagues on common planning and meeting departmental goalsDevelop and maintain open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and parents concerning both academic and behavioral progress of assigned studentsEstablish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicate these objectives to studentsEnsure equitable opportunities for student learning via differentiated instruction, implementing specific strategies for students with special needs and 5O4 plansPrior relevant experience preferred, including being certified in teaching Spanish. Three letters of reference need to be included as well as a copy of a valid and current MA DESE licensure.
