We have exciting work opportunities for school-based Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. Work up to 190 days a year within the school calendar. License/Certification Requirements:

⦁ Occupational Therapy License/Speech Language Pathologist (Required)

⦁ Professional Liability Insurance Required

Looking for School-Based Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists for school sites in:

Charlotte, North Carolina- SLP and OT

Greensboro, North Carolina-SLP and OT

Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, North Carolina-SLP and OT

What Exactly are we Looking For?

⦁ Excellent organization and planning skills

⦁ Demonstrated passion for students, especially those with disabilities

⦁ Effective interpersonal skills

⦁ Background Clearance

⦁ 2-3 years of experience in a school setting

⦁ Knowledge of Diagnostic procedures, education of Special Education Students and childhood development

⦁ Must possess license in good standing in designated profession by the state of North Carolina

⦁ Must possess degrees/diplomas from an accredited college or university

What type of Services will you be Providing?

Therapy:

  • Evaluate SLP and OT student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services by completing progress reports and collaborating with school-based personnel
  • Plan and provide appropriate interventions in collaboration with student, family, and school staff
  • Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with therapy goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP)

Assessment:

  • Collaborate with SLP/OT to participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (IEP) Committee to assist in interpretation of assessment, data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students eligible for Speech Language and Occupational Therapy services.

Consultation:

  • Counsel and involve parents in remedial process
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to plan and implement remedial process for improvement of students’ skills
  • Provide professional development in assigned schools to help school personnel identify and understand student deficits
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding needs of the student, student progress or mastery of therapy goals

Student Management:

  • Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interests of students
  • Seek assistance form school personnel to establish and administer discipline according to the school Student Code of Conduct

Program Management:

  • Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of Speech Language and Occupational Therapy services and make changes based on the findings in collaboration with IEP Team Members
  • Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials

Administration:

  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule and board policy
  • Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations
  • Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment

Compensation:

  • Compensation is based on experience- independent contract work

  • Possibility of partial hybrid model for (IEP Meetings)
