Job Summary
The PPM Senior Analyst is responsible for driving Portfolio health insights for Portfolio teams and leadership to act on.
Collaborate with peers and partners to create and provide input into the annual and long-term capital and expense plans, technology portfolio planning of projects and operations, portfolio-level capacity planning, rationalization and reporting across the portfolio. The Sr. Analyst will use their knowledge of agile methodologies and technology delivery to collaborate with the development teams to optimize the management of their delivery. Responsibilities also include anticipating risks, impacts, opportunities supporting the product/portfolio as well as, rationalization audits of initiatives/products, support of system/tool integrations, and data integrity. This is a highly collaborative role where partnership with many technical and non-technical teams is critical.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support Portfolio level accountability to meet Portfolio health.
- Communicate portfolio performance for Portfolio team/leadership consumption; increase transparency of risks and opportunities to drive portfolio insights and actions.
- Support strategic planning and prioritization for S/VP portfolios with their leader and Finance; provide deliverables for key finance milestones (Long Term Plan, Annual Capital Plan, Annual Operating Plan)
- Successfully deliver rationalized and prioritized S/VP portfolio input to forecasts in alignment with key parameters (financial targets, ramp-up plans, project priorities etc.)
- Anticipate risks and opportunities, share reporting & insights with a point of view to make actionable recommendations to the Portfolio team and Executives.
- Partner with Portfolio team to provide cause of change for variances, and responsible for monthly/quarterly Portfolio updates.
- Have a continuous view of resource demand and capacity across the portfolio and proactively plan for leveled resource allocation across development and sustainment activities.
- Strong understanding of the technology and the business to tell the ‘story’ behind the numbers.
- Partner & recommend prioritization and rationalization decision-making with leaders.
- Build strong partnership and communication with Finance to collaborate across the Portfolios for deliverables.
- Collaborate and evangelize to support standard processes & reporting that increase adoption and drive decisions, while identifying opportunities to continuously improve.
- Support accurate portfolio inputs within PPM system/tool to ensure accurate data for portfolio and partnering teams.
- Develop effective partnerships and collaborate with leads across departments in DPEP T&D
- Mentor and guide more junior members of the portfolio planning team.
- Drive solutions for process improvements, standardization, and efficiency within the organization
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in portfolio & product management, project management, demand management, capacity planning and financial analysis
- Experience with software delivery preferred including full software lifecycle (development, maintenance, deprecation)
- Practical experience in understanding technology project / product financial analysis, financial reporting, and cause-of-change explanations.
- Practical experience in product-oriented organizations using agile methodologies.
- Expertise in variety of software delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile: Scrum, Lean, etc.)
- Experience in Technical project management: estimation, project planning, resource planning, issue management, risk management, change management, communication planning.
- Experience working with engineering and digital teams; and the ability to translate to a business/finance friendly story.
- Experience with Project Portfolio Management software preferred; CA Clarity experience a plus.
- MS Office proficient & expertise in equivalent software; expert in Excel
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle, shift gears and maintain a sense of humor.
- Strategic planning partner for key planning milestones (long term & annual planning)
- Able to meet deadlines and deliver under intense business environment.
- Experience working with multiple creative and technical teams.
- Excellent business communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

- Able to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management.

- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Masters in information technology, business, or related field/work experience preferred.
