Job Summary:

Responsible for leading test and development activity for the DEL-120 family of engines, including development of a diesel powered Range Extender. Must effectively interact with various internal departments such as Procurement, Operations, and Quality, in addition to external Customers and Suppliers. Assist in the transition of engine components from pre-production to production.

Responsibilities to Include:

• Perform a variety of engineering assignments related to enhancement of existing products and/or new product development.
• Investigate and resolve design and specification issues from Discrepant Material Reports.
• Review materials, drawings, and process requirements and manage necessary updates in the Engineering system.
• Interface with drafting/CAD operators and is responsible for drafting output.
• Support Procurement in identification, qualification, and implementation of new component sources.
• Consult with suppliers and internal manufacturing on designs, specifications, and cost reduction proposals.
• Develop and execute the neccessary testing to validate new design and design changes.
• Oversee and advise junior engineers involved in test and build activities.
• Contribute to development and on-time execution of program schedules.
• Evaluate and create new component designs for improved performance, cost, and reliability.

Education:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Position Requirements:

• Familiarity with GD&T, FEA, and Six Sigma methodologies desired.
• Exceptional follow-up skills.

• Teamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflicts.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel 20% as necessary, with the potential for foreign travel.
