Position Summary: Under the direction of the Bookstore Assistant Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the warehouse staff and the receiving, logging and routing of all Bookstore deliveries, check-in, pricing, stocking and return of textbooks and merchandise. The Warehouse Supervisor and staff ships merchandise from all departments within the Bookstore and works with the Bookstore Buyers on floor maintenance, shelf stocking and inventory management. The Warehouse Supervisor works closely with the bookstore management team in the development shipping and receiving policies and procedures and researching and solving receiving/shipping discrepancies.

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two years related work.
Familiar with POS/Inventory Management system, preferably MBS.
Ability to operate general office equipment and use MS office.
Communicate and work effectively with diverse college community.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT – Coordinating with management, plan and participate in physical inventory vs on hand inventory management. Performance is acceptable when: a. Inventory is carried out per semester and yearly physical inventory plan, reconciling discrepancies of over/short per on-hand vs physical. b. Research any discrepancies or file claims on shipping discrepancies. c. Returns accurately completed in a timely manner d. Secure required items per Bookstore policy e. Assist in buyback process: buying, reconciling, shelving, shipping. f. Prepare and submit inventory transfer documents (stock ledger adjustments, price changes, etc) for inventory maintenance.
  • OVERSEE RECEIVING AND INVOICING OF ORDERS – Manage the Warehouse staff to ensure timely receiving, logging, invoicing, and submittal of invoices to accounting department, making sure invoices that received discounts are made a priority. Performance is acceptable when: a. Accurately log all deliveries and maintain receiving log b. Accurately receive all merchandise per the PO c. Pass invoices to the accounting office in timely manner making sure discounts are taken d. Assists buyers with pricing and stocking of merchandise
  • OVERSEE BOOKSTORE WEB ORDER OPERATIONS - Handle customer inquiries and complaints. Provide information to new customers. Performance is acceptable when: a. Customers receive their online orders on time. b. Customer complaints are satisfied in a timely manner. c. Employees are trained to pack and pull web orders.
  • MAINTAIN WAREHOUSE – Keep warehouse in a clean and orderly manner. Performance is acceptable when: a. Make sure non-merchandise is kept in working order and maintained. b. Keep warehouse, dock area, buyback area clean, free of snow/ice and debris. c. Assist in set up for various functions in the buyback area, buyback lounge and sales floor.
