Position Summary
The Table Games Managers responsibility is to generate revenue for the casino and provide honest and entertaining gaming for players. The Table Games Manager will direct and organize activities and create a friendly atmosphere for guests and help adjust and handle service complaints for players .The Table Games Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Table Games department and staff is in compliance with State/Federal/Tribal policy and procedures, regulations, and laws. The Table Games Manager will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Ensure Thunderbird quality guest service and cheerful atmosphere maintained in your department
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times
- Make good and proper decisions that reflect positively on you and the Casino
- Responsible for the compilation of all necessary information and preparation of reports needed to comply with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations
- Maintain proper compliance at all times
- Supervises departmental employees, scheduling proper coverage for all shifts
- Maintaining and entering of time by payroll deadlines. Hiring, training, and counseling of employees
- Enforces health, sanitary, and safety regulations. Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times
- Maintain proper compliance at all times, Title 31 training and convey departmental customers at all times
- Provide leadership for employees
- Communicate to GM about daily activity and any problems that should arise
- Pay out jackpots and payouts
- Keep track of weekly tokes for dealers
- Oversee operations of the department
- Resolve conflict involving players and customers in a professional manner
- Keep accurate records of monetary exchanges and vouchers
- Obtain customer signatures as policy demands
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage all Pit Bosss and Dealers.
- Ability to perform basic math functions; add, subtract, multiple, divide in all units of measure.
- Possess good interpersonal skills including positive conflict management skills.
- Must have exceptional customer service skill, the ability to relate well with others, and remain calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.
- Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing and 10 key and proficient typing.
- Knowledge of cash and ticket handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Tribal/State/Federal laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.
- Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability and accuracy to handle large sums of money.
- Skill in communication with guest and employees in any situation.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervisory responsiblities for Pit Bosss and Table Games Dealers
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
- Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and move intermittently throughout the day.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Exposure to smoke and second hand smoke.
- Noise level can be minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
- One (1) year casino experience preferred.
- One (1) year previous cash handling position preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and obtain a key gaming license.
