Job description
UNM Information Technologies seeks a Technical Analyst 2 to become an integral part of the Student Services IT team that oversees service delivery and systems management for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), Enrollment Management, Global Education Office, and Student Affairs.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong communication, technical, and organizational skills; excellent problem-solving skills; along with solid customer support skills to support a diverse customer base. Candidates must be comfortable using a variety of tools and techniques, including in-person, phone, chat, e-mail, knowledge base, and trouble ticketing applications, and training.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Microsoft and Apple endpoints in a complex enterprise that supports a range of services and uses sophisticated directory-based management tools such as SCCM/Intune, JAMF, with collaboration tools such as Teams/Zoom.
The position requires a thorough knowledge of managing Windows and Mac computers, an understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (AD), file/print services, and basic network and security practices. In addition, this position will assist in the support of SHACs electronic health record systems and devices.
Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills, a thorough understanding of IT systems management best practices, and a well-developed sense of customer service in a complex environment.
This position is "on-site" meaning the employee works entirely (100% of the time) at a UNM worksite.

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Demonstrate great customer service, technical and organizational skills. Proficiency to support a diverse customer base, with clear communication that follows procedures, guidelines, and policies. Demonstrated skill in documenting technical solutions and providing remote and in-person support to non-technical customers. Experience mentoring and training customers to ensure partner-level engagement for continuous process improvement.
Experience utilizing Microsoft’s Active Directory to support a range of directory-enabled services including mobile device management (MDM), SCCM/JAMF endpoint configuration management, and foundational resources such as file/printer sharing, SharePoint and Teams collaboration, system updates, and customization, security compliance, pass-through authentication and authorization and other specialized integrations as appropriate.
Experience documenting service delivery process, procedure and that aligns with UNM and area policy as it pertains to the centralized/service owner best practice for core services, security, and cross-training.
Experience managing a structured computer inventory process as an essential feature of an equipment renewal and replacement plan.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide appropriate solutions with critical electronic health record systems and devices.
