The Admissions Advisor is accountable for building positive rapport, in a friendly and professional manner with prospective students and currently attending students. This rapport will allow the Advisor to effectively cultivate excitement and a sense of urgency in prospective students, leading to set and kept appointments. Ultimately, the goal of enrollment will be of benefit for all involved.

This position is also responsible for keeping accurate records on those contacts and seeking referrals from those contacts. This Advisor has solid knowledge of House of Heavilin’s programs and procedures to direct prospective students to the right resources. Incumbent relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Customer Service, data entry, call center, scheduling appointments.
  • High School diploma and at least two solid of years telemarketing or sales experience required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledgeable of programs and basic applications.
  • Phone etiquette and experience preferred.
  • Experience using and keeping records in a customer relationship management (CRM) database.
  • Experience with student recruitment and admissions practices, organizing events and programs, managing and interpreting data, strategic planning and data-informed decision making, and working independently are preferred.
  • Personal vehicle and driver’s license required for travel between schools.
  • We have two locations, so location flexibilty is needed.
  • Some weekend and evening work to match prospective students needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of House of Heavilin’s programs, policies, awards, values, and distinctions.
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries through email, text, phone, or in-person communications.
  • Communicate information regarding House of Heavilin’s policies for admission, along with local state and national requirements for admission, including requirements for specific academic programs.
  • Communicate financial aid and scholarship information, deadlines, and processes.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding application materials, admissions decisions, needed materials, and scheduled orientation.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with prospective students, families, school/college counselors/advisors, and other school, agency, and community organizations.
  • Develop, plan, and coordinate recruitment initiatives within the recruitment territory, including but not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, community events, communication plans, and other initiatives focused on recruiting perspective students from diverse populations.

PERSONAL PERFORMANCE:

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal/presentation skills, and present information at both on-campus and off-campus events.
  • Maintain accurate reports related to perspective students’ inquiries, and other recruitment events, inquiry, applicant, and enrolled data, and communication efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other admission personnel, along with campus managers and staff.
  • Function with a high level of autonomy, including setting accountability goals, while keeping appropriate persons informed of progress to goals.
  • Effective in self time management, understanding priorities and deadlines.
  • Personal appearance and care representing the beauty industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
