SUMMARY of Quality Assurance Inspector:
Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results.

$23.00 - $26.00 DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of Quality Assurance Inspector include the following.
  • Responsible for First Article, receiving, in-process and final inspection. Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production & quality supervisors.
  • Provides instruction and assistance to production as required
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work so that production schedules are maintained
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into a quality database.
  • Assists in maintaining/ monitoring quality standards and the quality system, including but not limited to ISO9001, AS9100 and agency procedures and policies
  • Assists in keeping measurement equipment operating and within the certification.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Works collaboratively with department heads on electronic manufacturing support systems to achieve strategic growth objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS of Quality Assurance Inspector:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. Other skills include: Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results, Documentation Skills, Promoting Process Improvement, Safety Management, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Supports Innovation
  • Must be able to pass Boeing Security Clearance; if previously employed by Boeing, must be eligible for rehire.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school and two years related experience and/or training in the manufacturing field plus at least one year as a quality inspector, or equivalent combined experience and education. Experience in Lean Manufacturing Quality Control and Production in an Aerospace Environment. General knowledge in Manufacturing, ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality systems is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Can read, analyze, and understand technical drawings and specifications regarding manufacturing. Can respond and effectively present information to common inquiries or complaints. Effective communication skills and ability to be a team player.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
