Competencies

  • Strong business, creative, and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to multitask
  • Proficiency in appropriate engineering computer skill sets to support the assigned product groups (i.e. AutoCAD, Siemens Step 7)

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis or experience in Industrial Motion Control technology/Mechatronics.
  • 1-3 years of application engineering experience a plus
  • 2-year technical degree with courses in the basic fundamentals of engineering technology, Motion Control experience a plus.

Work Environment

Position is an indoor warehouse setting with moderate noise levels including voices, office equipment, and foot traffic sounds. Employee may interact with customers, sales representatives, and other internal departments.

Travel

Occasional out-of-town travel required. Travel may include overnight stays, weekend assignments, and international opportunities.

Job Description

Work with internal and external customers in supporting Industrial Motion Control and Automation equipment: Servo Drives/Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, HMIs and networking.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, understand and analyze customer requirements for product design, modification, or appropriate application. Required travel involving overnight stays, weekend assignments and international opportunities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Compares, analyzes, and determines if existing products can meet customers’ needs
  • Makes suggestions and recommendations to customers for product modifications and improvements
  • Consults with direct supervision or internal customers for product modifications
  • May prepare proposals, quotations, and apply appropriate pricing
  • Maintains current knowledge of company’s products and equipment capabilities
  • Possesses knowledge of engineering disciplines and industry standards affecting quality
  • Provides technical support for internal and on-site customers
  • Completes assigned departmental projects
