Accountant IIl - District Attorney
Hourly Pay Range: $27.03 - $30.74

Job Summary: The Accountant IIl will work under the supervision of the Financial Manager, assist in the fiscal administration of the district attorney's federal and state grant programs, and perform various accounting, payroll, and purchasing functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of the district attorney’s federal and state grant programs claims - including the compilation of timesheets and expenditures, summary spreadsheets, and reimbursement claims.
  • Assist in the preparation of Single Audit reports.
  • Prepare cash receipts and follow-up with unpaid claims
  • Other duties as assigned which may include special projects
Minimum Education and Years of Experience Required:
  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft products i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks.
Preferred Areas:
  • The ideal candidate will have familiarity with federal and state grant reporting
Please Note: Subject to manager approval and the needs of the department, this position is eligible to telework at 40% after probation is completed.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures; knowledge of office practices and procedures; skilled in performing mathematical computations; analytical and organizational skills; the ability and knowledge with use of personal computers; data processing skills and creating spread sheets; skilled in planning, preparing and performing accounting tasks; oral and written communication skills; ability to accurately compile and maintain a wide variety of tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision; ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others. The ability to lift/carry up to 10lbs and push/pull up to 20lbs.
