DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Care Coordinator independently manages all outpatient clinic appointments including intake and coordination of new patient consultations for the Orthopedic Oncology specialty within Cancer Services. This individual is often the first point of contact for patients and families seeking services. The coordinator makes a difference for patients by providing excellent customer service and supporting improved patient access.

Typical duties include answering multi-line incoming customer calls, completing registration for new or established patients in a timely and accurate manner and adhering to the established registration and scheduling protocols and standards. Responsible to collect all outside records and uploaded imaging into our system prior to the appointment. Managing provider’s templates and complex calendars. Verifying insurance eligibility for outpatient services on all third-party payers, by utilizing various automated eligibility systems and confirms authorization for all requested services.

The Clinical Care Coordinator works closely with clinical staff and physicians, and has excellent customer service and communication skills to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Knowledge of third-party payers including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Experience updating registration and scheduling appointments.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to use good judgment and work independently, at times under the pressure of deadlines

  • Possesses problem-solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customer expectations are met.

  • Demonstrated computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.

  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Epic or other EMR.
  • Experience in Oncology

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be available to work on-site, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $40,700 - $78,258 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $19.49 - $37.48

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
