Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking an inpatient Registered Dietitian to join our innovative Clinical Nutrition Team. This individual would work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness through evidence-based practices. This position involves assessing nutritional status, formulating and participating in implementation of nutrition care plans, including all aspects of nutrition support, counseling and education; as well as teaching and supervising dietetic interns and students.

Johns Hopkins Hospital is currently seeking a Clinical Dietitian, to work in the Adult Clinical Nutrition Department.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM Weekend work not required.

Requirements

Work collaboratively with a cutting edge multi-disciplinary health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness through evidence-based practices.
Involves the assessment and individualized care for our diverse patient population, including patients requiring enteral nutrition and/or therapeutic diets, based on the patients' health care needs.
Works with the health care team and provides medical nutrition therapy both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Assesses patients' nutrition risk, nutritional needs, and recommends appropriate nutrition intervention.
Provides nutrition education to patients and their families and documents patient's progress in the medical record.
Works with Nutrition Services department to ensure patients are receiving appropriate foods for the diet order.
Precepts and coordinates learning experiences for dietetic interns.
Counsel and educate patients.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Qualifications

Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Licensed as a Dietitian-Nutritionist in Maryland.
2 years' experience as a Registered Dietitian.
At least one year of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting is required.
