Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) responsibilities combine both administrative and clinical care services. This multi-skilled role includes appointment scheduling, greets patients and visitors, registration for patients, updating demographic information, and receiving co-payments for patient visits. The CMA will assist physicians in delivering excellent patient care to our community. The CMA role will have the responsibilities of a case navigator. The case navigator will oversee a course of action in the treatment of the individual’s diagnosed condition or disorder. Case navigators are involved in evaluating clients and coordinating various services to help them gain function and independence.

  • Behavioral health needs evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:


Core Competencies

  • Ability to learn and perform complexities of scheduling
  • Demonstrated experience making triage decisions

• Effectively able to build relationships • Successful in driving results and using sound judgment

  • Must be efficient with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ensures and maintains the confidentiality of patient information and other UCH business information in accordance with HIPAA and other compliance standards.
  • Complies with the Code of Conduct and other established policies, including but not limited to compliance, quality, and safety.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 2- 4 years of clerical work experience in medical setting, required
  • Medical Certification such as an EMT or Phlebotomist preferred
  • Medical Certification for CMA required
