Job description
Our organization is looking for a Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. The Controller will also be expected to provide leadership and guidance to the finance team and ensure that all financial processes are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger and accounting functions and systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts
- Manage weekly and month end closing processes and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner
- Prepare, analyze and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to management and parent company
- Establish and maintain financial controls
- Assess and improve accounting procedures
- Maintain the cost accounting process and provide product costing as needed
- Understand the financials of the company in order to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing
- Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
- Will require travel to sister companies and work with companies on costing, reconciling, evaluating processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, business administration or finance required
- At least 5 years of experience in public accounting
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about he finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations
- Operates at a high level of accuracy
