Myticas's direct client based out of Phoenix, AZ is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a 100% remote contract position.

Job Description:

A Data Engineer can confidently understand, write, troubleshoot, optimize, and peer review SQL code. They understand business requirements and create code and reporting that exceeds specifications through anticipating underlying needs. They also understand relational database design, table structure, data types, and data models. They are experienced with and confident in development in reporting visualizations in Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, QuickSight, SSRS, or other data products. They can create reporting dashboards and products that inform the business. They easily grasp and retain complex data concepts and are able to explain them to others. Looking for engineers who are driven to innovate, use cutting edge technologies to solve problems and think outside the box.

What You’ll Do:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field and 2 years' work experience
• 2 years of experience in most phases of IT systems deployments in one or more of the following areas: design and deployment of cloud services, data migration to AWS cloud, Digital Transformation into AWS, and Data Warehouse related work

Required QUALIFICATIONS:

• Evaluating, developing, maintaining and testing data engineering solutions for Data Lake and advanced analytics projects
• Implement processes and logic to extract, transform, and distribute data across one or more data stores from a wide variety of sources
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new solutions and migrating existing data applications on the AWS platform
• Optimize data integration platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes
• Hands on experience in implementing AWS stack such as serverless architecture
• AWS RedShift modeling and performance tuning techniques
• Experience in AWS datastores (RDS, Redshift, Dynamo DB, or similar)
• AWS and Data Platform experience with the following: AWS Lambda, Kinesis, Redshift, Glue and S3
• Basic understanding of Agile, Scrum and DevOps methodologies
• Minimum 2+ years of working experience on data warehouse implementations and strong knowledge about handling large volume of data transfers

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• AWS and Data Platform experience with the following: AWS Lambda, Kinesis, Javascript, NodeJS, React/NextJS (or Vue/NuXT), AWS or Cloud Development (Serverless Functions and Microservices), Infrastructure as Code, Docker, API Development, Testing, CI/CD
• Experience working and delivering features in an agile or scaled agile team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff
• Able to communicate well with others, to perform work in a team environment.
• Experience serving as a resource, mentor and coach for other engineers including less experienced team members.
• Experience onboarding and supporting the success of new team members
• Easily adapt to and embrace a fast moving and rapidly changing work environment
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and exhibit a highly collaborative workstyle
